Introducing Lizzy McDonald, an enthusiastic advocate for holistic healing and self-discovery. With her warm and empathetic approach, Lizzy fosters a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to embark on their journey towards wellness and personal growth.
Lizzy believes in the profound connection between humans and nature, viewing the natural world as a source of healing and self-renewal.
Lizzy brings her own journey of mental ill-health and recovery (which she likes to call “discovery”) to her work, supporting individuals in their quests for discovery and healing. She has worked as a peer worker in Mental Health Transitional Care supporting diverse backgrounds and orientations.
Lizzy prioritises authentic connection, empathy, and trust in her sessions. She creates a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore themselves and their environment with curiosity and playfulness.
Authentic connection, empathy, trust, safety, curiosity, and openness are central to Lizzy’s practice. She also values humour and playfulness, using these qualities to foster safety and trust in her sessions.
Lizzy holds a certification in Mental Health First Aid, an Associate’s Degree in Art Therapy and is a member of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association.
In her free time, Lizzy enjoys expressing herself through music, painting, drawing, and photography in natural settings. She finds solace in nature, particularly around bodies of water, and engages in activities like snorkelling, bird watching, and gardening.
Lizzy’s mission is to contribute to a community where healing extends beyond clinical approaches, emphasising the importance of reconnecting with nature and creativity for holistic wellbeing.
